Using Combine Multiple and Difference Concept
Some of the problem require both mutiplication and difference concept. Parent need to provide them the clear
idea what is multiple concept and difference concept. Please go through both concept as a seperate subject before
teaching them how to do the conbination.
Using conbination of both does not mean using simultaneously in one equation. They have to use the concepts seperately when they draw the model.
Let take as an example, Boy A is twice as tall as B. B is 20 cm shorter than C. Their total height is 500 cm. Find the height of all the three boys.
Here, we need to identify the shortest boy and that is B. We use B height as x. C will be x + 30 and A will be 2x (2 times x). What we need to do is to find the x value.
4 Units -> (500 - 20) = 480 cm
1 Unit -> 480 / 4 = 120 cm
B = 120 cm (1 unit)
C = 120 cm + 20 = 140 cm
A = 120 x 2 = 240
To check, add all the 3 boys together (A+B+C) = 240 + 140 + 120 = 500 cm
