Violin
(For 4 years old and above)
This course is especially designed for young children to develop an early interest in playing the Violin. We believe that learning to play a musical instrument in a fun environment helps them to develop their mental ability in discerning different musical notes, while at the same time enhances their memory and motor skill, all of which together form the foundation in building the child’s confidence and social ability to mix well with others. It also teaches them patience and discipline, which are essential qualities to achieve their full potential and creativity.
Students in this course will learn to develop a balanced posture and a natural bow hold, as they are taught the parts of the Violin and Bow, the proper technique and good sound production and play simple melodies. They will also learn basic music skills like Note-Reading, Time Signatures and other Rudimentary Theories.
Throughout the course, the teacher will assist in developing the young children’s music proficiency to enable them to perform with confidence and ease. Students are then able to play for leisure, or if they want to be graded, enrol for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations.
